World's Most Expensive Superyachts, Ranked
/granite-web-prod/e9/c3/e9c3b0d6e6174258aabeff749fa4f39a.jpeg)
Many people dream of being rich enough to own a yacht. Most people can't fathom being rich enough to own a yacht that can fit 1,000 yachts inside it.
But in the world of the superrich, superyachts — giant yachts worth millions upon millions of dollars — are a popular toy. Some of the world's elite buy and sell these cruise ship-sized vessels like baseball cards.
These are the most expensive superyachts in the world.
30. Tranquility
/granite-web-prod/a1/ea/a1ea2d72c3744c979954e8ef8a04bc41.jpeg)
Owned by: Genting Group
Built in: Malaysia
Built by: Oceano
Year: 2014
Length: 300 feet (91.44 meters)
Cost: $176 million
Bottom line: Tranquility used to be named the Equanimity, but the Genting Group changed its name after purchasing it from the Malaysian government. Why? Because this ship was the yacht of a Malaysian fugitive named Jho Low, who stands accused of stealing $2 billion from the Malaysian federal investment company 1MDB.
After its impoundment, Genting Group purchased it for $126 million. It's now on the market for 149.9 million euros ($176 million). It's also available to charter for $1.3 million per week.
Tranquility is the same yacht that Kylie Jenner rented for her birthday.
29. Yas
/granite-web-prod/7c/c8/7cc8e12bbe0c4082a5cf604f6896e68b.jpeg)

Built in: 2015
Built by: United Arab Emirates Navy
Year: 2015
Length: 463 feet (141 meters)
Cost: $180 million
Bottom line: Yas king? Well, it's not based on the meme language — the name Yas means "jasmine" in Arabic — but this yacht was made for a king. Or at least, it was made for an Emirati royal named Hamdan bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Yas is built from the hull of a 1978 decommissioned frigate from the Royal Netherlands Navy. It's now the 12th-largest yacht in the world and can accommodate 60 guests.
28. Solandge
/granite-web-prod/02/18/02181277888146ddb92b59d0c7c40cda.jpeg)
Owned by: Unknown
Built in: Germany
Built by: Lurssen
Year: 2013
Length: 279 feet (85.1 meters)
Cost: $183 million

The owner remains a secret, but the superyacht is well known among the superyacht community. The exterior was created by Espen Oeino, and the interior was crafted by a collaboration between Rodriquez Interiors and Dolker & Voges.
According to Yacht Charter Fleet, the yacht has over 49 different marble and granite surfaces, 33 types of wood, Murano glass, and Schonbeck chandeliers. In the lobby, there's a 50-foot lighted sculpture of a tree with 1,423 points of light.
Check out the interior.

A few standout features of the 290-foot vessel include an observation deck, a convertible touch-and-go helideck, an aquarium made to look like an aquatic reef, indoor and outdoor cinemas, and an owner's suite that can be converted into two cabins if you need the space.
Potanin has listed this superyacht for sale and is asking $165 million euros, or $195 million
26. Andromeda
/granite-web-prod/ec/a5/eca5434fb21445bbae06fb4d034f358f.jpeg)
Owned by: Yuri Milner (unconfirmed)
Built in: Norway
Built by: Kleven Maritime AS
Year: 2015
Length: 352 feet, 4 inches (107.4 meters)
Cost: $195 million
Bottom line: Andromeda used to be named Ulysses and was briefly believed to be Mark Zuckerberg's superyacht, but that was just a rumor. Andromeda went up for sale at $195 million in 2016 and was sold to an anonymous buyer (some sources say that buyer was Russian venture capitalist Yuri Milner).
Andromeda has a huge swimming pool on the upper deck — 30 feet above sea level — which measures nearly 40 feet. It reportedly cost 20,000 euros ($23,500) per square meter (or $2,183 per square foot) to create the interior.
25. Bravo Eugenia
/granite-web-prod/02/86/0286799a353b4672930c3a3f55eabce4.jpeg)
Owned by: Jerry Jones
Built in: Netherlands
Built by: Oceano
Year: 2018
Length: 358 feet (109 meters)
Cost: $250 million
Bottom line: Billionaire Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones dropped $250 million on this massive megayacht as a 2018 Christmas present. For comparison, he bought the Dallas Cowboys for $150 million in 1989 — although the team is now worth $5.5 billion. It's named after his wife, Eugenia Jones.
Bravo Eugenia features two helipads, a gym, massage room, plunge pool, rain shower, steam room and other features only known to Jones and his guests.
Think the Cowboys get a ride? Probably not.
24. Al Raya
/granite-web-prod/db/57/db57f94c475f422bbd622eb8e74e897f.jpeg)
Owned by: Royal family of Bahrain
Built in: Germany
Built by: Lurssen
Year: 2008
Length: 361 feet (110 meters)
Cost: $250 million
Bottom line: The Al Raya used to be known as the Dilbar. The new Dilbar — a much bigger and expensive ship that's further down this list — replaced this one, and it was renamed Ona.
Originally built for Alisher Usmanov, the ship has since been sold to an unnamed member of the royal family of Bahrain, who renamed it Al Raya, according to SuperYacht Fan.
It was designed by the award-winning superyacht designer Tim Heywood and is worth an estimated $250 million.
23. Pelorus
/granite-web-prod/b5/4b/b54bf88bb00047799c86bd86d483e7f5.jpeg)
Owned by: Samuel Tek Lee
Built in: Germany
Built by: Lurssen/Blohm+Voss
Year: 2003
Length: 377 feet (115 meters)
Cost: $250 million
Bottom line: Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich was Pelorus' first owner and purchased the ship in 2001.
In 2009, Roman lost the Pelorus to his wife, Irina, as part of their divorce settlement. She turned around and sold it to American businessman David Geffen for $300 million in 2011. Geffen then went ahead and sold the superyacht to some Abu Dhabi royals for 214 million euros in 2011 — roughly $250 million.
In 2016, Chinese billionaire and real estate tycoon Samuel Tek Lee purchased this yacht. His son threw an on-board rager with musical performances from MC Hammer and David Guetta.
22. Al Mirqab
/granite-web-prod/ca/93/ca939fcd24b943f7938692840a29cbbb.jpeg)

Year: 2008
Length: 436 feet (133 meters)

The beautiful boat won several awards for its stylish design. The interior was designed by Andrew Winch, while the exterior style was designed by Tim Heywood.

Built by: Lurssen
Year: 2010
Length: 408 feet (124.4 meters)
Cost: $258 million
Bottom line: Qatari royal and former Emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, owns this 408-foot-long superyacht.
Katara is the 25th-longest yacht in the world and has a beach club, swimming pool, gym, spa, jacuzzi, elevator and helipad.
20. Luminosity
/granite-web-prod/d9/e8/d9e8a7ab3f954e68a775d0fc42c2f650.jpeg)
Owned by: No one, yet
Built in: Italy
Built by: Benetti
Year: 2020
Length: 353 feet (107.6 meters)
Cost: $265 million
Bottom line: Luminosity is a 2020-built, six-deck boat with 12 suites. She has a very stylish modern design, both inside and out. There are floor-to-ceiling windows everywhere, and the interiors are super modern and sleek.
There is a luxury health club that transforms into a "sea level spa" when the side shell doors are opened, according to the listing (that's right, she's for sale).
But the coolest thing might be the 320-foot coldwater pool which has an elevator floor. Empty out the pool, raise it up, and the thing turns into a dance floor.
19. Radiant
/granite-web-prod/c4/d1/c4d1bde782eb417d961267bd773e08a5.jpeg)
Owned by: Abdulla Al Futtaim
Built in: Germany
Built by: Lurssen
Year: 2009
Length: 361 feet (110 meters)
Cost: $280 million
Bottom line: Thanks to the Panama Papers, we know that the late Russian billionaire Boris Berezovsky sold the Radiant to Emirati billionaire Abdulla Al Futtaim for exactly 240 million euros in 2008, or roughly $280 million.
The Radiant is one of the biggest superyachts in the world. It features a tender garage, swimming pool, elevator, beach club, gym, movie theater and, of course, a helicopter landing pad.
18. Tis
/granite-web-prod/df/50/df50b54415974b758d5d80c63a200169.jpeg)
Owned by: Alisher Usmanov (unconfirmed)
Built in: Germany
Built by: Lurssen
Year: 2019
Length: 364 feet (111 meters)
Cost: $300 million
Bottom line: Tis features two helicopter pads, a 39-foot swimming pool, a resort-style spa, gym, indoor and outdoor movie theater, and a palatial spiraling staircase.
While not as large as some other superyachts, Tis is all about opulence. Yacht Harbor has some pictures of the marble-lined bathrooms and ridiculously opulent spiral staircase that curls like a nautilus.
According to SuperYacht Fans, the Tis rumored to be owned by Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov.
17. Motor Yacht A
/granite-web-prod/d8/9a/d89a55633a5e43df9eb22eb2260802c0.jpeg)
Owned by: Andrey Melnichenko
Built in: Germany
Built by: Blohm+Voss
Year: 2008
Length: 390 feet (199 meters)
Cost: $300 million
Bottom line: If designer superyachts are a thing, then Motor Yacht A is their king. The A took four years to build and was commissioned by Russian chemical magnate Andrey Melnichenko. Its futuristic beaked design allows the A to glide through the water with minimal rocking. It's not nearly as large in volume as almost any other superyacht, having just seven guest cabins and enough room for 35 crew members.
But it's certainly not small. With 24,000 square feet of interior living space and a 2,500-square-foot master suite, this yacht has even more square footage than some of the world's most expensive homes.
Bomb-proof glass, biometric security systems, three pools that can be switched from salt to freshwater, and a bed that rotates and rises at the push of the button are just a few features of this insanely opulent superyacht.
16. Al Lusail
/granite-web-prod/75/70/7570c03ce75b4e9b85b41f81962f8681.jpeg)
Owned by: Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani
Built in: Germany
Built by: Lurssen
Year: 2017
Length: 404 feet (123 meters)
Cost: $300 million
Bottom line: Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the emir of Qatar, owns the Al Lusail. Valued at $300 million, not much is known about the megayacht.
The decks are made of teak wood while the superstructure exterior is made out of aluminum.
The yacht features a gym, theater, beauty salon, elevator and tender garage.
15. Ocean Victory
/granite-web-prod/11/a7/11a73bf6a4ea4892941057a0ab75ea9b.jpeg)
Owned by: Viktor Rashnikov
Built in: Italy
Built by: Fincantieri S.P.A.
Year: 2014
Length: 459 feet (140 meters)
Cost: $300 million
Bottom line: Steel magnate and Russian Oligarch Viktor Rahsnikov owns this sleek nautical beauty called the Ocean Victory.
She features seven decks with an internal helicopter hanger, six swimming pools, an underwater observatory, floodable garage and a 3,300-square-foot spa area.
There's enough room for 36 guests to sleep comfortably, and by comfortably, we mean better than the majority of earth's people who sleep in their land-bound homes.
14. Al Said
/granite-web-prod/5d/a9/5da9e18a3b11455699a5e967e8917b66.jpeg)
Owned by: Sultan of Oman (Haitham bin Tariq al Said)
Built in: Germany
Built by: Lurssen
Year: 2007
Length: 509 feet (155 meters)
Cost: $300 million-$600 million
Bottom line: Estimated to be valued at $600 million, the Royal Yacht Al Said is a family yacht that belongs to the sultan of Oman. Currently, that's Haitham bin Tariq al Said.
Not too much is known about Al Said except that it is one of the largest superyachts in the entire world. It can accommodate 65 guests and has two MTU marine engines that roar out 22,000 horsepower, for a cruise speed of 14 knots. Estimates put the cost of her anywhere from $300 million to $600 million.
Wherever she travels, the Oman Navy escorts her.
13. Octopus
/granite-web-prod/90/17/9017e17f318244b4a762bf5bb46008f9.jpeg)
Owned by: Formerly owned Paul Allen
Built in: Germany
Built by: Lurssen
Year: 2003
Length: 414 feet (126.2 meters)
Cost: $350 million
Bottom line: The Octopus is one of the most famous superyachts in the world because it was purchased by the late Microsoft cofounder, Paul Allen.
The Octopus is both a superyacht and an exploratory vessel used for exploration, research and rescue missions. It has two submarines (one which is remote-controlled for super deep-sea exploration), a pool and seven tenders. The yacht includes two helicopter pads and a glass-bottomed underwater lounge.
The Paul Allen estate is selling the Octopus for 295 million euros, or $347 million.
12. Flying Fox
/granite-web-prod/d4/18/d4183396b7c04e7b9097cad7b3ffef13.jpeg)
Owned by: N/A
Built in: Germany
Built by: Lurssen
Year: 2018
Length: 446 feet (136 meters)
Cost: $400 million
Bottom line: Flying Fox is the largest superyacht in the world that you can charter. That's right, for the low, low price of $4 million, you could rent this 446-foot-long yacht for an entire week.
The 11-cabin yacht can accommodate at least 25 guests in its 11 rooms. Amenities include twin helipads, a message room, barbecue area, beauty salon, sauna, theater, steam room, gym, two-floor spa area, and a 40-foot-long swimming pool. Fifty-four crew members keep the Flying Fox flying.
Many believed Jeff Bezos purchased the Flying Fox, but that's not the case. In fact, we're not entirely sure who owns Flying Fox. Maybe it's a spec yacht?
11.Sailing Yacht A
/granite-web-prod/39/76/3976f8a3d0f54fe09262da0e6dd1d169.jpeg)
Owned by: Andrey Melnichenko
Built in: Germany
Built by: Nobiskrug
Year: 2015
Length: 468.5 feet (142.81 meters)
Cost: $400 million
Bottom line: Surprise: One of the most expensive yachts in the world is a sail-assisted vessel. Sailing Yacht A is an even more ambitious project than the A motor yacht, both of which were commissioned by Russian billionaire Andrey Melnichenko.
Sailing Yacht A has three carbon-fiber masts that measure over 300 feet tall with a trio of sails, each of which can cover a football field. She weighs 12,000 tons and has eight decks and a glass observation pod in the keel. The interiors are mostly a mystery, although some spy drones have taken a peek.
It's not entirely powered by the wind, of course. The boat also has six powerplants to get her moving.
10. Golden Odyssey
/granite-web-prod/94/f1/94f15ada0bfa4f1e9c6e20699d070c23.jpeg)
Owned by: Khalid Bin Sultan
Built in: Germany
Built by: Lurssen
Year: 2015
Length: 404 feet (123.3 meters)
Cost: $400 million
Bottom line: Former Saudi Deputy Minister of Defense Khalid bin Sultan owns the Golden Odyssey, and it's just the most expensive of his fleet of personal yachts.
Martin Francis designed the interior. Other than that, not much is known about it. The Paradise Papers revealed that Prince Khalid owned the Golden Odyssey through an offshore company named Actaeon Shipping Ltd., according to SuperYacht Fan.
The Golden Odyssey is estimated to be worth about $400 million.
9. Fulk Al-Salamah
/granite-web-prod/05/ab/05ab069e9a504fc9bf812fefac53b6b3.jpeg)
Owned by: Omani Royal Family
Built in: Germany
Built by: Lurssen
Year: 2016
Length: 538 feet (164 meters)
Cost: $400 million
Bottom line: Fulk Al Salamah — meaning "ship of peace" — is part of the sultan of Oman's fleet that functions as a support vessel. She's the world's third-longest yacht.
Not too much is known about the Fulk Al Salamah's interiors and amenities, although a peek inside by Daily Nation reveals gold-plated fixtures and a lavish entertaining area.
8. Dubai
/granite-web-prod/b2/20/b2201301ac054e24bf4d118cd7e434cd.jpeg)
Owned by: Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum
Built in: Germany
Built by: Blohm+Voss and Lurssen
Year: 2006
Length: 531.5 feet (162 meters)
Cost: $400 million-$500 million
Bottom line: The Dubai is owned by Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the prime minister of the United Arab Emirates and the ruler of the Emirate of Dubai. He's worth around $15 billion.
You won't see the Dubai at sea since the ship is often stationed in UAE waters — specifically, near Sheik Mohammad's private island. If the family does take it for a spin, they keep it within UAE waters.
The Dubai was first made in 1995 and was the largest yacht in the world for several years — which makes sense since it is a converted cruise ship. This massive ship has a disco and even its own submarine.
7. Luna
/granite-web-prod/53/7a/537a24e30c7745a08c0acb1aa6e8b0ec.jpeg)
Owned by: In limbo between Farkhad Akhmedov and his ex-wife Tatiana Akhmedova
Built in: Germany
Built by: Lloyd Werft
Year: 2010
Length: 377 feet (115 meters)
Cost: $450 million
Bottom line: The $450 million Luna was impounded in Dubai waterways for nearly three years due to ongoing divorce proceedings between Russian oligarch Farkhad Akhmedov and his ex-wife Tatiana Akhmedova. It was released in February 2020 when a Dubai court ruled that Tatiana had no legal claim to the megayacht, but the battle isn't done yet.
But enough about who gets the (giant) baby yacht. Let's talk about Luna. It has a custom-made lifeboat limousine, which can serve as either luxury VIP transport or as lifeboats. And you might need them.
Because this thing comes with windows strong enough to resist armor-piercing bullets, LRAD (long-range acoustic device) mounted guns, bomb-resistant hatches and an anti-drone system to scramble whatever menacing mechanical bug is getting in the way of your sun time.
6. A+
/granite-web-prod/f3/0d/f30db233867a48f58b153ad8da42fa9e.jpeg)
Owned by: Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan
Built in: Germany
Built by: Lurssen
Year: 2012
Length: 482 feet (147 meters)
Cost: $450 million-$518 million
Bottom line: Formerly known as Topaz, the A+ is a 482-foot-long megayacht belonging to Abu Dhabi royal and Manchester City Football Club owner Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The A+ is one of the largest yachts in the world, but not too much is known about her. Although, if other UAE vessels are to be compared, it likely has a missile defense system. Can't leave the UAE without one.
Various estimates put her cost between £342 million ($442 million) and £400 million ($517 million).
5. Eclipse
/granite-web-prod/83/23/83239ddb039048209742b3b06ead0a37.jpeg)
Owned by: Roman Abramovich
Built in: Germany
Built by: Blohm+Voss
Year: 2009
Length: 533 feet (162.5 meters)
Cost: $485 million
Bottom line: The Eclipse is owned by Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich, who actually got this behemoth at a discount. The ship reportedly cost $800 million to build, but Abramovich picked it up for about $485 million. For some time, this superyacht was available to rent for $2 million a week.
The super-luxe ship has two swimming pools, a missile defense system, armor plating, bulletproof windows and a wellness center in case those safety measures fail. And if they do, there are three helipads to escape from.
4. Rising Sun
/granite-web-prod/7c/16/7c167eb2510949ba95683d639dcb99e1.jpeg)
Owned by: David Geffen
Built in: Germany
Built by: Lurssen
Year: 2004
Length: 452 feet, 9 inches (138 meters)
Cost: $570 million
Bottom line: DreamWorks founder and business magnate David Geffen owns this ludicrously expensive, 453-foot-long superyacht. Reportedly costing between $300 million and $590 million, Geffen used this ship to take some self-isolation time in the Grenadines in 2020, and people were very worried about his quality of life.
The Rising Sun features a basketball court, double-height cinema and various visiting famous people, from Oprah Winfrey to Jeff Bezos. Forbes reported that Geffen bought the Rising Sun for a total of $590 million from Oracle founder Larry Ellison, but it cost "only" $300 million to build.
3. Serene
/granite-web-prod/ac/34/ac34458771694e83b9911673daf546d0.jpeg)
Owned by: Mohammed bin Salman
Built in: Italy
Built by: Fincantieri S.P.A
Year: 2011
Length: 439 feet, 4 inches (113.9 meters)
Cost: $587 million
Bottom line: The Serene is one of the world's biggest and most expensive superyachts ever made.
Mohammed bin Salman, the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, bought this megayacht for 500 million euros ($587 million) in 2015 while he was deputy crown prince. Previously the yacht had belonged to Russian vodka tycoon Yuri Shelfler, and bin Salman bought the Serene on a whim. The deal was done within hours. Someone's a little spendthrift!
Serene has twin helipads, an indoor climbing wall, an underwater viewing observatory, spa and three swimming pools. While bin Salman paid a premium for this superyacht, it was previously valued at around 350 million euros (about $411 million).
2. Azzam
/granite-web-prod/8c/4e/8c4ef7f04ebd402694a7304f9751ab1d.jpeg)
Owned by: Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan
Built in: Germany
Built by: Lurssen
Year: 2013
Length: 590 feet (179.7 meters)
Cost: $627 million
Bottom line: President of the UAE and oil magnate Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan owns this ridiculously expensive ship, which costs about $63 million a year to maintain and fuel.
At 590 feet long, the Azzam is the longest yacht in the world. It's bigger than most Navy destroyer-class ships (those measure around 510 feet long) and only 20 feet shorter than the largest destroyers in the world, the Zumwalts (which are 610 feet long).
Naturally, given its owner, details on the ship are spare, but the yacht is rumored to have a missile defense system, submarine and a bulletproof master suite.
1. Dilbar
/granite-web-prod/0e/ab/0eab68b04d6c421cb900b653504d1787.jpeg)
Owned by: Alisher Usmanov
Built in: Germany
Built by: Lurssen
Year: 2016
Length: 512 feet (156 meters)
Cost: $600 million-$1 billion
Bottom line: Dilbar has an 82-foot-long swimming pool and requires a crew of 96 people to keep running. It's the largest luxury yacht in the world by volume and has 20 en-suite cabins suitable for 36 guests.
How much it costs is the real question. Various sources place the luxury yacht between $600 million and $800 million, with some speculating that she costs $1 billion. We're almost positive she's more expensive than the Azzam.
Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov — who's worth about $15 billion — has been buying bigger and bigger superyachts for over a decade. He'll commission a ship, call it the Dilbar, own it for a while, then commission an even bigger ship and give that bigger ship the Dilbar name. The previous Dilbar, which is now the Ona, was 361 feet (110 meters). This one is 512 feet (156 meters).
We don't know how much exactly this costs, but she's expensive. Her flag state is the Cayman Islands. Just in case you thought Usmanov was paying tax on this thing.
