The ultimate sale in the 2019 Netflix docusoap series “Selling Sunset” is up for sale in Los Angeles — and it’s the largest home that has ever been built on Sunset Strip. The mansion — an astounding 20,058-square-foot tower of water and glass — was the biggest potential sale in “Selling Sunset,” although it remained under construction for most of the show and none of the agents appeared close to selling it.
Now the five-bedroom, nine-bathroom house is fully built and up for sale at $43.9 million, a price that’s big enough to inspire cutthroat competition among Los Angeles agents. Come see inside this incredibly expensive house and check out its epic pool, theater and views.

The Garage

The home’s 20,000 square feet also does not count the garage that’s pictured here. The house, built by SAOTA, is designed with openness in mind. Not even the garage door is closed off from nature — it’s a series of wood-colored bars that allow guests to marvel at your car collection.
In “Selling Sunset,” the realtors of the Oppenheim Group first come to this home while it’s under construction. The giant home paints a backdrop to what the stakes in the real estate game are. The agent who can sell this behemoth will walk away with $1.2 million in commission, according to the show.
Who do you think will make the sale — Chrishell, Mary, Davina, Christine, Maya or Heather?

Inside, the garage is a bit narrow, but excellent for exotic cars. The garage is very much a part of the house, with glass walls opening it up to the home’s interior.
The Entrance

Water’s a main feature at 8408 Hillside. Here, a floating walkway covers a shallow pool of water, which flows into the atrium.

The entrance looks like a luxury hotel. Couldn’t you picture a receptionist sitting here?
The Atrium
/granite-web-prod/27/42/274254b797224314884b70ec886c91c2.jpeg)
Aside from the pool, the inner atrium might be the most awe-inspiring feature of this mansion. Those twin palm trees stretch up to the second level (and beyond, as they keep growing). It also includes a waterfall feature, with water flowing down from the second floor.
The Living Room
/granite-web-prod/cb/47/cb47fad240c047b6b7ed268d9b7aefbe.jpeg)
Mary Ta of MASS Beverly did the interior design, according to Forbes. The cool gray and black colors and hanging, three-piece art installation give this living room a relaxed vibe. Throughout the home, automated glass sliding doors seamlessly transition a room from indoor to outdoor living.
The Kitchen
/granite-web-prod/e1/64/e16452c179f14a69b94bee257da1a05b.jpeg)
The kitchen has a minimalist design, and its various cabinets and appliances — aside from those four stoves — are hidden behind dark wooden paneling.

The kitchen is located on the upper floor and opens into another seating area. You can see the atrium — and its water feature — while you cook.
The Sitting Area

This part of the open floorplan kitchen looks like a nice spot to relax and listen to the water pour from the third level to the first, and back again.
The Upstairs Hallway
/granite-web-prod/be/a4/bea44bad011e46c89b0c99bc738536ad.jpeg)
Here you can see the winding glass staircase and the atrium. If you don’t feel like climbing the stairs, there’s an elevator somewhere in the house.

Another look at the atrium shows some shrubs that should be hardy enough to withstand the weather, no matter how much you crank the air conditioning.

The Theater

With lightning-like, lighted architectural cuts in the ceiling and velvety furnishings on the floor, the theatre is absolutely stunning.

Why be “Selling Sunset” when you could be drinking it?
The Master Bedroom
/granite-web-prod/a9/c1/a9c1bf085a454a18b4899f6db98abb58.jpeg)
Entering the master bedroom you’ll see a large portrait of bad boy James Dean smoking a cigarette.

The master bedroom, like most rooms in this nearly $44 million mansion, opens to the outside for some true indoor/outdoor living.
The Master Bathroom
/granite-web-prod/a1/8c/a18cdbf6efd24e5696be6b056081bf58.jpeg)
The extremely spacious bathroom includes a walk-in shower and a soaking tub that has been dropped into the floor. Just don’t forget to turn on the light at night.

The Dining Room
/granite-web-prod/6e/74/6e742f28b6964a0d8154a38479e34960.jpeg)
The formal dining room is a sea of blacks with clouds and streaks of white, with a table long enough to seat 12 from end-to-end.
Barbecue Area
/granite-web-prod/a7/15/a715ac58279f46418dee1888bcfffcb4.jpeg)
Outside on the second floor patio is a barbecue pit, with slats of wood running up and over the outside area to provide a bit of shade. A living wall of lush grass can be seen on the opposite side, on the area above the garage.
The Enormous Closet
/granite-web-prod/71/f6/71f6e1ccfc564a5b9977b26de03a85fe.jpeg)
During the first episode of "Selling Sunset," the Oppenheim brothers comment that they’re all standing in the under-construction mansion’s closet. It was difficult to realize then, but now the place is even bigger than one might imagine. There’s enough room for an entire catalog of Louis Vuitton shoes and purses as well as a whole wardrobe of Kiton suits.

What would a mega closet be if you couldn’t look out over downtown in your freshly pressed dress? The closet comes with a wall-to-ceiling window that overlooks Sunset Strip.
The Office
/granite-web-prod/0b/4f/0b4f4dab7c6c4aa9a424064b2e202160.jpeg)
Time to do some work? Host a meeting here in the elegant but simple office. The floating floor-to-ceiling bookshelf installation is quite eye-catching.
The Massage Parlor
/granite-web-prod/72/a6/72a6254cdf094d9c9c6d499da77ed07c.jpeg)
Selling real estate can be difficult. Keep a masseuse on call and head over to these twin massage beds for some needed kneading. Additionally, the spa area includes cold and hot water plunge pools and a wet and dry sauna.
The Pool
/granite-web-prod/3d/60/3d60e42a6f2749f1868614b4e11edfb2.jpeg)
The jewel of 8408 Hillside is its 175-foot infinity pool, which curves around the house and spills from the second level down to the atrium.

Somewhere outside is a 15-foot television that rises from the ground and can be moved on both the horizontal and vertical axis, allowing it to be viewed from nearly anywhere on the property.
The Rooftop Views
/granite-web-prod/f1/90/f19027e8f69941daba860b37aacf5c20.jpeg)
There’s room for even more entertaining on the rooftop. This built-in, wraparound lounge seating area is a fantastic place to enjoy 300-degree views of Los Angeles.
This mansion might be the biggest one on Sunset Strip, but it’s not the most expensive — and it will probably take some time to sell. Three miles away, the most expensive listing in the area is a 16,000-square-foot-mansion selling for $52 million. It has been on the market for over 150 days.
